The Lutgert Companies Announces Leadership Transition and Next Generation of Executive Leadership

The Lutgert Companies announced a planned leadership transition that reflects both the company’s longstanding legacy and its continued focus on future growth.

Scott Lutgert, Chairman of the Board, announced that effective July 1, 2026, Howard Gutman, President and Chief Executive Officer, will retire following an extraordinary 50-year career with the company, including 26 years as CEO.

Gutman will remain actively involved as Vice Chairman of the Board alongside Lutgert, and will continue to provide strategic guidance in a consulting capacity to ensure continuity during the transition.

He expanded our geographic reach, strengthened our platform, and built an exceptional team that will carry us forward. Next Generation of Executive Leadership

As part of the transition, the company is promoting a seasoned group of long-tenured leaders into new executive roles:

• David Crowley will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. With more than 23 years at the company, he brings deep financial and operational expertise from his tenure as Chief Financial Officer. View bio.
• Erik Lutgert will become President, continuing the Lutgert family’s legacy of leadership and vision. View bio.
• Mike Hoyt, currently the President of Lutgert Construction with more than 31 years at the company, will serve as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing day-to-day operations across all divisions. View bio.
